Pedigree of: Seppala Kennels L-Litter (2002)

PEDIGREES of the M and L litters at Seppala Kennels are unusual for these times. Since the 1990s we have been concerned about the high concentration of inbreeding on Beowulf; this pedigree has him just once, and the ABB Index (percentage of "Ali, Beowulf, Baron" Surgut/Helen progeny that make up the pedigree) is a low 29.69%, with the major concentration on Baron. Paternal grandsire of both litters is the immortal "Hank." Just as strong a force in this pedigree as the Surgut/Helen progeny are the Markovo N-litter and the Seppineau M-litter, the progeny of Mikiuk Tuktu Tornyak out of Lyl and Moka of Sepsequel. The overall 10-generation Coefficient of Inbreeding for this mating is 29.47%. There is no strong inbreeding close up in this pedigree, other than the presence of Hank on both sides, which is a positive factor in my opinion. It is rare to see McFaul dogs as close as the fifth generation in the pedigrees of puppies these days, but both Vanka of Seppala and Shango of Seppala are strong in the fifth generation here. Ditko and Duska of Seppala are very strong in the sixth generation, occurring six times each.
