KOLYMA OF SEPPALA, now honourably retired, was for many years our number-one broodbitch and a good second-string leader as well. She always took excellent care of her pups and threw beautiful litters. She was responsible for such fine progeny as Lizaveta of Seppala, Lenin and Lev of Seppala, Orlov of Seppala, the five fine females of the C-litter, and our fine stud Arkady of Seppala. "Kol-Doll" is a back-to-the-boater, a living historical relic, a throwback to Leonhard Seppala's 1915 leader Scotty.
Born 12 February 1997, Kolyma was sired by Xpace of Seppalta (Uelen's Ebony of Sepp-Alta x Dynamikos Ruby) out of River View's Sprite (Peter of Sepp-Alta x Powder of Markovo). She is a pure-strain Markovo-Seppala, inbred on the Baron/Mokka mating, with Powder of Markovo and Hercules of Sepp-Alta up close. For practically her entire working career she was Isa Boucher's leader. Kolyma produced four excellent litters at Seppala Kennels and would have produced more yet but for the fact that we did not dare to unbalance our breeding programme by emphasising her any further. As it is, it is not easy to find matings that do not reinforce Kolyma, so great has been the value of her progeny.
Kolyma is now a happy house-pet, queen of the kitchen. She has a happy-go-lucky temperament and gets along beautifully with any and all other dogs. This archetypal reincarnation of the great leader Scotty is a typical example of the virtues of the pure McFaul/Shearer bloodline.
